CTE scholarshipsUp to 18 scholarships are awarded annually to students currently enrolled in Career and Technical Education programs. The scholarship is awarded for fall, spring, and summer terms. Tentative term awards will be calculated using a fixed cost per credit hour to be determined each year by December 1 for the following year.

Scholarships will be reviewed each term to verify continued eligibility. Applications are accepted year round. The number of credit hours that may be covered is 12 credit hours for fall and spring terms and six credit hours for summer term, for a maximum of 76 funded credit hours (Rule 7.14). Awards are intended to cover in-state tuition for up to 12 credits hours for fall and spring terms and six credit hours for summer term. This scholarship does NOT cover books or lab fees which remain the student's responsibility.

How to Apply

Complete the CTE Scholarship Application and send to Office of Career and Technical Education Scholarship Committee, 3000 NW 83 Street, I-34, Gainesville, FL 32606. Applications are accepted year round, and those received after each semester deadline will be held for the following term.

Eligibility

Students must meet the following requirement in order to be considered for the Career and Technical Scholarship:

  • Currently enrolled in Career and Technical Education program and pursuing a certificate or AS degree;
  • Have at least a 3.0 GPA at Santa Fe College;
  • Demonstrate financial need;
  • Provide a letter of support from a CTE Program Director, Coordinator, Advisor, or Instructor demonstrating the applicant's mastery of the material in the enrolled CTE program.

Students who receive the Career and Technical Scholarship must:

  • Students must maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA for renewal;
  • Scholarships will be reviewed each term to verify continued eligibility.

Academic transcript must be forwarded to the Office of Career and Technical Education Scholarship, 3000 NW 83 Street (I-34), Gainesville, FL 32606. Award letters will be emailed to students who are chosen to receive a scholarship award from the Office of Career and Technical Education confirming the award of a CTE scholarship and the award period.

Interested Students

This scholarship is published in the financial aid handbook, online financial aid office, and financial aid counselors will send students to the Office of Career and Technical Education to apply at I-34.

The Santa Fe College Provost's Office reserves the right to make final scholarship decisions. Any application containing false or misleading information or documentation can result in revocation of the scholarship.

Career and Technical Education Scholarship Committee

Scholarship selection is through a review of applications by a Scholarship Committee comprised of CTE administrators, advisors, and faculty. The Scholarship Committee will primarily be concerned with financial need, performance in the enrolled CTE program, related school & community activities, and career goals.

The committee's recommendations are forwarded to the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs or designee for final selection of students.
