Author and Speaker
Author of What the Best College Teachers Do, a fifteen-year study of the nation’s best educators, and its sequel, What the Best College Students Do, Ken Bain will spend Monday, January 4, 2016,with us. Both books won the Virginia and Warren Stone Prize awarded annually by Harvard University Press for an outstanding book on education and society. Currently, Bain is the president of the Best Teachers Institute and working on more books in the “best” series, including one on what the best college administrators do. An award-winning educator himself, Bain taught U.S. history at the University of Texas, Vanderbilt, Northwestern, and NYU before retiring in 2013 as the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at the University of the District of Columbia.
